ไม่มีเหตุผลว่าทำไม

Whenever you're going to do something in life, there needs to be a reason for it. At the beginning of your weight loss journey, it may seem easy, but as time goes on, without a purpose for losing weight, it becomes increasingly difficult to maintain the weight loss.

Successful weight loss depends more on discipline than on motivation, but it's hard to be disciplined about something you don't understand. It's like taking a college course in something you have no desire to learn.

Determining why you want to lose weight can help enforce the importance of sticking to your goals, while also helping to find specific ways to achieve your weight loss.

Having the right reasons for losing weight is also important. If you want to lose weight for superficial reasons, such as appearance or someone else's opinion, you may find that such commitment is hard to achieve. Prioritizing health could lead to numerous opportunities in the future, and this focuses on you. Finding good reasons to lose weight will increase the chances of successful weight loss.

สมองของคุณไม่ต้องการให้คุณลดน้ำหนัก

Your brain hates the idea of dieting. One reason your brain dislikes weight loss is the drastic change in comfort levels. Your body and brain are used to the daily routine of delicious, easy-to-eat foods, like sugary, fatty, and salty snacks. When you try to live a healthier lifestyle, your brain reacts significantly. Losing weight requires much more effort in choosing your foods, and more importantly, dealing with calorie deficits. The calorie deficit pushes your brain into fat-storage mode.

The last thing your brain wants is for you to lose weight, especially in a short period. In a recent study conducted on mice, published in the online medical journal eLife, researchers found that crucial brain cells prevent the body from burning fat when you start eating less.

Scientists theorize that this trait developed when our ancestors needed to store fat for periods of hunger. Simply put, whenever your body detects that you are starving, even with insufficient calories, fat will begin to accumulate in your body.

การอดอาหารทำให้สมองเสี่ยงที่จะทานมากกว่าเดิม

It's likely this isn't the first time you've tried to lose weight. Don't worry; most people trying to lose weight experience weight rebound, known as 'yo-yo dieting,' which is gaining weight back after dieting often due to successful short-term fasting.

Of course, you can fail and try again and again, but a 2016 Oxford study found that these cycles may trigger your body to gain weight over time, especially for those who fall victim to unhealthy eating patterns that often lead to nutrient deficiencies.

The major issue with following these diets is that you may become stuck in what is called 'last supper syndrome.' You might find that before starting your diet, you want to have a 'last supper' before planning to eat healthily or fully commit to fasting. The problem is you might not be able to fast the following week, or even the next day, leaving you stuck in the mental cycle of 'today I’ll eat everything delicious and start losing weight tomorrow.' Most people stuck in this condition have consistent weight or have gained weight from ongoing hunger and deprivation.

Ultimately, what works for long-term weight loss is gradually changing your overall eating patterns. The idea that you won't eat fats ever again can lead you to give up on trying to lose weight, ending up in despair. The less you focus on restricting and categorizing foods, the more you'll concentrate on building healthy behaviors around food and exercise. The healthier your body and mind will become.

ความเครียดก่อวินาศกรรมการลดน้ำหนักของคุณ

For many people, stress is a common problem in their daily lives, whether it's work, school, family, financial issues, or even while trying to lose weight. It’s a part of your life. Stress is a mental problem and negatively affects the body. The side effect of stress for many is weight gain.

The worst part about stress is that it’s cyclical; from overeating that causes stress to weight gain that causes stress, and even stress to lose weight—it seems endless.

Stress makes the body produce more cortisol and beta-endorphins, which are stress hormones that promote body fat. Cortisol makes weight loss harder, particularly around the belly area.

While stress affects your mind and behavior with food, the typical response to stress is to eat, or what’s termed emotional eating. It's a way to suppress or relieve negative emotions, but most people won’t choose salad when they want to eat emotionally and instead turn to sugary and fatty options, which are common cravings. Especially at stressful times in life, emotional eating can significantly contribute to weight gain.

Managing stress while losing weight is essential, as it can affect your health negatively without you even realizing it.
